One of the things you can sell on eBay is products to eBay sellers. With nearly 600,000 people making a full time living off of their eBay businesses that's a lot of people and business that need all sorts of supplies. These sellers that have profitable and full time eBay businesses are always looking for a better deal for all sorts of stuff from packaging to office supplies to computers, PDA's, cell phones, paper and more.
But let's think about more specialized people that sell on eBay. Take coin dealers for instance, all of the coins they sell on eBay must be in some kind of packaging such as individual coin sleeves and holders, coin tubes, display cases, coin albums and so on.
And think about eBay sellers that sell sports cards. If you've ever known a sports card collector you know they have every kind of display case for individual cards up to several dozen cards for their prized possessions. Then there are boxes, sleeves, albums, books and on and on.
But you know one thing that nearly every eBay seller needs whether or not they sell on eBay full time or just do it for a hobby? They need packing material. I mean boxes, bubble wrap, tape, peanuts, paper, shipping envelopes, and the list just goes on from there. And if you have ever tried to buy shipping material and supplies from an office supply store, it is so incredibly expensive, the cost of it could literally put the beginning eBay merchant out of business.
For instance, I was in Staples the other day and luckily I got a price break on some bubble wrap because it was in the wrong bin, but the regular price was $15 for a 24" x 15' roll of the stuff, and I needed 2 rolls. That's outrageous! I was going to have to spend $30 on packing material for 2 items I sold on eBay that I made $20 total profit. You can easily lose all your profit doing business like that.
Then I did a search and found an eBay seller who was selling more than 8 times the amount of bubble wrap for only $10 more. Who do you think I'm going to buy from next time I need bubble wrap, Staples or this guy on eBay?
You can do the very same thing though by locating wholesale bubble wrap and selling it as well on eBay. Or you can do it with boxes, or shipping items for card collectors, or coin collectors, or supplies for any of the other hundreds of thousands of eBay sellers out there.
Don't be limited by trying to find that special something that no one sells and everybody wants. Find something that's fairly common, but everyone on eBay needs. Get creative and watch your eBay business grow.
