Whose Fault, Google Or You?

There's always speculation as to why someone's web site may disappear from the Google index. If you've spent any time building web sites, I know you've had a site or two disappear from the index. You know the feeling, one day you are getting tons of traffic and you're on top of the world and the next day or week, suddenly all of your traffic dries up and so do your sales along with it.

There you are left holding the bag, or web site, wondering what happened. According to a recent Site Pro News that I read on a regular basis some even blame their competitors spam complaints to Google for listing problem with their own sites. This thread over at Google Webmaster forum nips that right in the bud. If your competitors had that much control over your web sites, Google's index would be gone in a matter of months with all the spam complaints. Google's own Adam Lasnik chimes in on the discussion to set the record straight.
