The 180 Degree Radical Departure

Sorry folks, but it's been several months since my last newsletter, partly because I have had a radical departure in what I now believe is a viable home based business opportunity and have been updating my site accordingly.

This is good new for those of you reading my newsletter because I believe it can save you valuable time and money in your search for a home based business and your ultimate quest to be your own boss.

As of 6-28-2005 I am no longer promoting my MLM air purification business as a viable business opportunity.

Why...

Because I've found out that you can make pretty decent, consistent money building web sites and becoming an affiliate for various quality merchants. The affiliate model, in my opinion, is one of the absolute best opportunities for anyone wanting to build a business on the internet today.

SIDEBAR
I'm not becoming anti MLM, but I do believe there are some definite flaws with certain companies that will keep them from being successful in the years to come. If your MLM company is not 100% behind internet marketing and servicing your customers on the internet, they will be left behind while the rest of the world quickly passes them up.
================================

Affiliate business cost much less to get started and are much easier to maintain than any other kind of online business, especially an MLM business. All you need is a decent web site and a few good merchants to represent and you are off and running your own business.

This is much less hassle for you as a business person than MLM where you have to attend meetings, stock inventory, order inventory, ship or deliver products, call people all hours of the day and many other duties.

Of course I've over simplified the actual building of an affiliate business, but the basic structure is there: web site + merchants = affiliate business.

There are some misconceptions about affiliate programs that need to be cleared up however.

1. You sold never, ever have to pay to join an affiliate program. If a company wants you to pay to join their affiliate program they most likely aren't promoting a real affiliate program. It could be a thinly disguised MLM deal.

2. An affiliate web site is not a web site filled with nothing but links. These are the kind of sites that give affiliate programs a bad name. I'm sure you've seen many of them and they are an abomination to real affiliate marketers.

3. Concentrate on one niche per site, not 10 or 20 or more. This goes along with point #2. Don't have a million links for your visitors to click on your site. Concentrate on one subject like, NASCAR racing, or Vacation Cabin Rentals, or racing bicycles.

4. Content is king, not anything else. Having good content on your site is what will attract search engines and keep your visitors. People are searching for information on the internet. If they don't find what they are looking for on your site, they will go somewhere else, and someone else will get the sale. It's a simple as that!

If you would like to know more about affiliate programs and how to build a successful one, there's a free ebook on my site entitled The Affiliate Masters Course. Again, you can download it for free.

I will continue to keep you updated about affilite programs and building web sites on a much more timely basis now.

To your success,

Alan LeStourgeon
