The Business Of Network Marketing

Last month I talked about one of the two least expensive business to start that can provide the greatest money earning potential. The subject of that newsletter was starting a web based business.

This month I want to touch on the second of those two businesses, network marketing.

In its basic form NWM is an alternative form of product distribution. Products are distributed through a network of individuals by word of mouth instead of sold by expensive advertising and through costly distribution centers. The distributor pays for the advertising and distribution instead of the company and the distributor get paid bonuses for doing so.

Network marketing, MLM, multi-level marketing, whatever you call it, those words can sometimes strike fear into the hearts and of people that don't understand the MLM concept.

Why?...

It could be because they've been burned by a program and lost money, they've started building a business and network only to lose their business because the company goes bankrupt, or maybe they've had a pushy relative who just wouldn't leave them alone until they "signed up."

It could be that you just haven't found the right organization yet.

Whatever you think you know about network marketing, 50,000, yes, that's fifty-thousand people join network marketing (NWM) organizations every week.

Why Do So Many People Join NWM Organizations?

Traditional businesses, the brick and mortar kind, cost tens of thousands to hundreds thousands of dollars to start, while a network marketing business costs about $300 to $5000 to start depending on what kind of business you're talking about and what your goals are.


A little side note here - You can join many NWM programs for only the cost of a distributorship, usually around $25 to $75 but that doesn't get you any products, and you don't have a business with just a start up kit. Products are required for most any NWM program. An old saying goes, "You can't sell hay from an empty wagon."

If you don't buy any products you don't have anything to put in your store.


Many people are just tired of working for a boss and for a company that really cares little about them. They are tired of a wage ceiling and not being able to take time off when they need to.

Today, many people want more out of life than a job can provide.

A NWM business can provide these things for the person willing to work hard.

NWM Advantages

There are many advantages of having a NWM home business. Some include:

  • You are the boss
  • You can choose your own hours
  • You can grow your organization as large as you want
  • There isn't any salary cap

By far though the biggest advantage of network marketing is residual income.

Once you build a large enough business you will earn income from that business for years to come.

NWM is really the fairest kind of business because everyone benefits. You don't work for the benefit of others, to make others wealthy, you work for yourself. And, the more people you help succeed the more you succeed.

That is one of the main concepts of network marketing and one that several people don't understand. Unless you help people succeed in their business, then you won't succeed.

And succeeding in network marketing is much different today than it was just a few short years ago. With the advent of the internet, email, cell phones, and auto responders it is now easier than ever to communicate with your organization and/or prospects and customers.

Business is booming in NWM...that is why 50,000 people a week are becoming part of the NWM revolution.
