The Basics Of Starting A Web Business For those that want to start their own business and spend the least amount of money with the greatest money making potential there are two avenues to travel. One is to start a web based business the other is to start a network marketing business. Now, even though there is great money making potential in either of these businesses, it's not going to be easy. I simply don't believe in get rich quick deals. It just doesn't happen that way. This month I will go over the basics of starting a web based business and next month I will talk about network marketing. You can sell just about anything on the internet. Any product or service, large or small can be sold in the online world. Obviously, some products and services are much better than others because of ease of shipping, service issues, returns, etc. Starting and building a successful business on the internet is more of a matter of a well thought out and planned process than it is just putting together a web site. Mentally you have to think of your web venture as a business not a site. Many people spend thousands of dollars on a slick web site that doesn’t get any traffic or doesn’t make any sales. In fact 98% of small business web sites fail. Even the cheap companies that tell you your site will be up and running the same day are just selling you web space because if you don’t get any traffic to your site, you won’t make any sales. It’s as simple as that. So how do you start a web business and get traffic to your site? Well, it’s a four step process and it begins like this: Create In Demand Content Attract Targeted Traffic PREsell Those Visitors Then... and only then... Monitize Your PREsold Traffic Monetization is the easy part -- it flows from traffic the way electricity flows from a river through a dam. But monetization does not matter until your "visitor-river" delivers hundreds (at least) to your site (every day)... and your content PREsells them. Unfortunately... PREsold traffic is the hard part -- this is where 98% of small businesses fail. Once you have PREsold traffic, then blend in your monetization options to build a thriving, diversified business. Again you PREsell by delivering relevant information. That’s what your customers are looking for! To learn more about this you can read a more in depth explanation here. To your success, Alan LeStourgeon |
